There is something to be found. Something simple. Something silent. Only The Breath is a documentary journey to discover the essence of what it means to be human in relationship with the breath-taking beauty of our world.

The film follows Charlie Menzies, a photographer, shipwright and poet who lives on a boat, Kung Fu-tse in the Scottish Highlands. With wit and humour, Charlie takes us into a deep becoming with the land, weaving personal stories with lost tales, meditating on his own life as he walks us into a profound and fragile wilderness.

Filmed in 2020 between the first and second lockdown in the UK, the film is a powerful invitation to consider the immensity and fragility of our own lives and to explore our relationship with time, mortality, and the landscapes within and without.
